Johan & Karin Hendrikz approached us to design their ultimate contemporary retirement home with unobstructed views over the ocean. Only catch – they had bought an old thatched cottage on Kusweg in Kleinmond with an intense heritage approval process governing all design solutions. We had our work cut out for us. A specialist heritage consultant was appointed to assist and after a lengthy process approval was given and construction could start. Today the ocean takes centre stage with natural light filling the interior providing a clean slate for Johan & Karin to create their own memories.
